loved viewing your site. I have been given 5   five day old cayugas. now they are going on 5 months. I lost one and that was a heart break. I, too have a kiddy's pool for them to swim in. I am so in love with my girls and we are now building them a proper house. Your plans are very helpful. At night I put them in very large dog kennels so the cayotes fox owls etc don't get them. I gave them half of our dogs run with a pool during the day. The run is 8 feet wide and 16 feet long. The run is covered with pea pebbles I hope this is ok for their feet. Would anyone know? This is a whole new experience and I'm hooked. Any information would be greatly appreciated.  Again great site .

I love your site. You gave me some great ideals. I'm trying to build a duck house on my pond we have cayotes an last year I made my 6 little ducks a floating house with blue board and tied it off in the middle of our pond. I would feed them and they stayed for about 3 months but then they flew away. I loved having them around. I had them in a kid swimming pool in my barn for about 4 months. So now im trying to think of a way to keep them safe and here. If you have any ideals please email me. Do you think if I fenced around my pond that would work with the cayotes??

your site looks great. love the pictures.

I just followed the link and loved seeing the pictures of the ducks! I know that you are busy, but ... there were a bunch more bunny pictures and at least another "in memory of" or two. Great job!

Thanks for your site info. I really enjoyed it. We have 26 mallards on a 3 acre pond. We love them a lot. We are looking to build them a better night shelter (larger and taller) and your photos were very, very helpful. You did a great job for your ducks. Our ducks have actually fared very well on our pond during the day. They get into the water and dive when necessary (if they feel threatened). We never let the ducklings run loose until they are able to fly to get into the pond. If you ever have any health care issues with yours the info would be useful. We had to take one of ours to the vet when it was attacked by a hawk 2 years ago. After the vet packed the wound with antibiotics and I gave her antibiotic shots for a week, she did just fine. We isolated her in a smaller rabbit type house while she recovered. She had a very deep punture in her breast from the talon of the hawk. We have goats and dogs as well. We did have a rabbit like yours. Her name was Molly and she died of old age.

I love your pen. It is so amazing. my dad built a 10'x10' for my 2 white and fawn indian runners who were 2 weeks. now one had babies and she had four. But now I think i need a bigger pen and i wont my dad to just add an addition and use yours as an example. Ours looks like a similiar structure to yours. Good luck with your babies.

Hi, I love your website. My daughter bought me a 1 week old Cayuga duckling this past Easter. I called her Shadow, fed her the feed that was sold to my daughter and Shadow almost died. Had to do some quick research and found that 'medicated chicken feed' was the worse thing to feed her. Had to get the chicken start & grow and ordered the Mazuri starter--25 lbs. for 1 duckling., ha-ha!!

Anyway she had a rough first 2 weeks in life, but she came through it and I decided to change her name to "MIRACLE" because it truly was a miracle that she survived.

I've been trying to do research on the Niacin/Brewers yeast powder that everyone is saying she needs to strengthen her legs. She is just 5 weeks old now---1 lb. 13 oz. Please email me if it is ok for me to ask questions from you regarding feed and such. I have a diaper harness ordered--she's def gonna be an 'imprint'. Thanks---hope I didn't ramble on too much for a 'signing of your guestbook' . Love your Welsh Harlequin Surely--so gorgeous.

Would love to hear from you.

My husband brought home five ducklings from a feed store. They are adorable, smart and messy! I needed ideas for housing for them when they are old enough to go outside. Thanks for the pictures of your duck living quarters.

Thank you for the wonderful pics of the ducks and houses. Your ducks are beautiful; it helps to see real ducks, not just show specimens. I'm still planning my duck house, but for no more than 2-3 because of my small yard. They will help with my gardening and maybe some fresh eggs.
